Detroit producer Tadd Mullinix takes instrumental hip hop somewhere harder-edged and stranger than most. 'Air' with MF DOOM is the obvious centerpiece but the solo instrumentals hold their own weight. The production is sharp and purposefully weird — not background music, not easy listening. Very Detroit in the best way.
