Tim Maia strips away some of his usual flash here, going for a heavier, more soulful sound rooted in deep bass and steady Rhodes keys. His voice carries most of the weight, moving between smooth falsetto and gritty lower register with ease. The arrangements stay tight and focused, letting the groove build without much excess. It's a different side of Maia, more introspective but just as funky.
