Nate Dogg had one of the most identifiable voices in West Coast music and this album gives him room to actually use it on full songs. The production is polished G-funk with live-feeling arrangements — real bass, real keys, and enough space that his vocals carry the weight they're supposed to. It floats somewhere between soul and rap without straining to do either. Smooth without being soft.
