Funk Upon a Rhyme

West Coast G-funk at its loosest — deep bass, smooth synths, and Kokane's signature nasally delivery riding right on top of the groove. The production has that rubbery mid-90s feel that Dre and the Death Row camp were perfecting around the same time. Kokane was always a background figure in that world but this record shows he could hold his own at the center. It's laid-back without being lazy.
