N'Dambi has one of the more distinctive voices in neo soul — earthy, flexible, and not trying to sound like anyone else — and this record puts it in the best settings she'd found up to that point. The production is warm without going soft, mixing live percussion with keyboards and clean bass. It moves between upbeat and slow jams without losing the thread. Under-circulated record that has no business being this hard to find.
