Conflict

Sy Smith brings real vocal range to production that straddles neo soul and contemporary R&B without falling into either cliché. The arrangements are tight — live bass and keys do a lot of work underneath her, and the rhythm section gives the record a grounded, physical feel. 'Didn't I' is a standout, but the record builds well as a whole. Not a lot of filler.
