First album without Dilla behind the boards, and yeah, you feel the gap, but Elzhi and T3 don't back down from it. Beats still swing that Detroit way — dusty, off-kilter snares, no rush anywhere. 'Selfish' with Kanye is the one that got the record any shine at all, but 'Insane' is where the group actually proves the name still means something.
