Sarge

Wilson's voice is the whole story — that soft, aching tone he'd been perfecting since he was a teenager cutting sides for Studio One. 'Sarge' rides a rockers riddim that's tougher than his earlier work, but the vocal never loses that vulnerability. Mid-70s roots reggae doesn't get much more understated than this. Not a record that announces itself, but it rewards patience.
