Som, Sangue e Raça

Piano-led and heavy on the low end, this record leans harder into funk than most Brazilian jazz from the era dares to. Dom Salvador's keys drive everything, but the rhythm section is doing the real damage underneath. It's a short record and it doesn't waste a bar getting to the groove. Sampled plenty since, but the original still hits different in full.
