"Mystic Brew" is the track everybody knows even if they don't know they know it — Tribe Called Quest flipped it decades later for "Electric Relaxation." But the whole record holds up on its own, Foster's organ riding tight funk drums and horns that never overstay. Blue Note put real budget behind this one and it shows in the arrangement. Play the title track back to back with "Mystic Brew" and hear where the crate diggers have been mining for years.
