Kynard's organ is greasy and confident, and this record leans hard into the funk side of the jazz-funk equation rather than the jazz side. The title track is the reason to own this — a groove that just locks in and doesn't let go for eight-plus minutes. Side two gets a little more laid-back, almost soul-jazz, and that contrast is the whole record's appeal.
