Piece of Mind

Memphis rap with a smoother edge than most of what came out of that city in the mid-90s. The production floats — slow tempo, syrupy bass, keyboards that feel half R&B and half street. Tela's delivery is relaxed and confident, never in a rush to prove anything. 'Sho Nuff' is the obvious standout, but the album holds its pace all the way through.
