West Coast Hip HopJ Dilla's fingerprints are all over the back half of this and you can hear it — the drums get looser, the samples get stranger, everything breathes different than the group's debut. "Runnin'" is the one everybody knows for good reason, that flute loop and the way the drums stumble on purpose. West Coast rap that trades punchlines for mood, which threw people off in '95 but sounds ahead of its time now.
