Alexander plays with a Caribbean looseness that runs through the whole record without turning it into anything novelty. The trio format keeps it direct — piano, bass, drums, and a lot of interplay between them. There's real energy in the live performance feel, like the room was close and the tape was rolling without much ceremony. Joyful playing without being sentimental about it.
