Martin plays most of this himself and the tightness shows — saxophone, synths, and production that moves between jazz and funk without making a fuss about the transition. The arrangements are clean and the album is paced well, nothing dragging past where it should end. "Valdosta" is a strong anchor track but the album builds momentum around it. A focused record from someone who's usually part of someone else's project.
