Muhammad's drumming is the whole story here — precise and punchy with just enough swing to keep things from going stiff. The arrangements are built around him, and the horns and keys fill in without crowding his space. "Could Heaven Ever Be Like This" became a sample staple for good reason, but there's more worth digging across the full album. Tight jazz-funk production that holds up.
