Nobody in America clocked this record, which is baffling once you hear how much falsetto and fuzzed-out guitar Taylor stacks into one song. Think Prince and Todd Rundgren but filtered through British bedroom psych-soul. "Track" is the one that convinces you — the chords keep shifting under that voice and it never resolves the way you expect. This deserved a much bigger year than it got.
